Cookies Policy

Last updated: 13 August 2026 · Effective: 13 August 2026

This Cookies Policy explains how Nexify Studios uses cookies and similar technologies on our website, and the equivalent local storage technologies inside our mobile apps. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They let a site remember your actions and preferences over time. Related technologies include local storage and session storage, which hold small amounts of data in your browser, and pixels or tags, which are tiny files used to count visits. In this policy we refer to all of them as "cookies".

Cookies can be "session" cookies, which disappear when you close your browser, or "persistent" cookies, which remain until they expire or you delete them. They can be set by us ("first-party") or by a provider we use ("third-party").

2. Why we use them

We keep our use of cookies deliberately small. We use them to remember your cookie preference so we do not ask again on every page, to keep the site secure and working correctly, and — only if you agree — to understand in aggregate which pages people find useful so we can improve them. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not sell any information collected through cookies.

3. Types of cookies we use

3.1 Strictly necessary cookies

These are required for the website to function and cannot be switched off in our systems. They do not store any information that directly identifies you.

3.2 Preference cookies

These remember choices you make so the site behaves the way you expect.

3.3 Analytics cookies (optional)

These are only set if you accept them. They help us count visits and see which pages and roadmap titles people are most interested in. The data is aggregated and IP addresses are truncated before storage.

If you decline optional cookies, the analytics cookies above are not set and the site continues to work normally.

4. Similar technologies in our apps

Mobile apps do not use browser cookies, but they store data locally in order to work. Our apps keep your story progress, vocabulary review schedule, audio downloads and settings on your device, and they may use a resettable advertising-free device identifier for crash reporting and anonymous usage statistics. Deleting an app removes its local data. You can reset the device identifier at any time through your device privacy settings.

5. Third-party cookies

Our website deliberately loads no third-party fonts, scripts, videos or social media widgets, so no third party sets cookies through these pages. If we ever introduce an embedded third-party service, we will update this policy and ask for your consent before it is loaded. Note that the Apple App Store and Google Play operate their own platforms with their own cookie and tracking practices, which apply once you leave our site or open a store listing.

When you first visit our site, a banner asks whether you want to accept all cookies or essential ones only. Strictly necessary cookies are set regardless, as they are required for the site to work. Your choice is stored for 12 months, after which we will ask again. You can change your mind at any time by clearing your browser storage for this site, which makes the banner reappear.

7. Managing cookies in your browser

Most browsers let you see which cookies are stored, delete them individually or entirely, block all or third-party cookies, and clear cookies when you close the browser. You will usually find these controls under Settings, then Privacy, Security, or Site settings. Mobile browsers offer the same options within their settings menus. Blocking all cookies may stop parts of our website and many other websites from working properly.

8. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

There is no common industry standard for handling "Do Not Track" browser signals. We treat a Global Privacy Control signal, where our systems detect one, as a request not to set optional analytics cookies.

9. Changes to this policy

We will update this page if we start using new cookies or change how existing ones work, and we will revise the date at the top. Where the change requires it, we will ask for your consent again.

Template notice for the site owner: the cookie names and durations above describe the demo implementation shipped with this site. Audit your live site once analytics or other tools are added, and update the tables so they match reality — inaccurate cookie tables are a common compliance problem.
